I came across this interesting article on Performance Enhancing Drugs: “In Defense of the Beta Blocker”. The author argues that use of beta blockers might actually allow the competition to be more fair by reducing the negative effects of anxiety on competitors.

PHI 276: Sports Ethics: Syllabus, Schedule, and Readers

For students in PHI 276-1 (MWF 1pm) and PHI 276-2 (T 6pm), your syllabus and schedule are now available. This is only a tentatively version and might need to be updated as we get closely to the first day of classes (Aug 20!!). I will also hand out a syllabus on the first day of classes.

PHI 103 Reader Now Available

The required reader for PHI 103: Introduction to Philosophy is now available.

You will create an account and be prompted to choose your state and institution. Easy-to-follow instructions will lead you through the rest of the purchasing process. Students order online at www.universityreaders.com and follow these exact steps:

  1. Click the GOLD Students “BUY HERE” button on the top right side of our home page
  2. Click the “Create New Account” button (or enter your existing login information and skip to step 6)
  3. Select your State from the dropdown menu.
  4. Select your University from the resulting dropdown menu.
  5. Enter the fields on the page such as a “login/password” you’d like to use and all applicable “address” info.
  6. Click the “Save” button to create your account, and you’ll automatically be taken to your university page.
